Common use

Januvia (sitagliptin) is prescribed to manage type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by inhibiting the DPP-4 enzyme, which increases incretin hormone levels. This helps the body release more insulin after meals, reduces glucagon production, and supports better blood sugar control.

Dosage and direction

Januvia is usually taken once daily with or without food. Tablets should be swallowed whole. The dose is determined by the healthcare provider based on kidney function and individual patient needs. It may be prescribed alone or with other diabetes medications such as metformin, sulfonylureas, or insulin.

Precautions

Contraindications

Missed dose

Overdose

Storage

Store Januvia at room temperature, away from heat, moisture, and light. Keep tablets in the original container and out of reach of children.
